Everton Backwoods Venturee and Moot

Get your hiking boots on and join us for the return of the Venturee and Moot to Everton Scout Camp! All Inclusive weekend includes tent camping, all food and all activities.
Learn how to cook over a fire, use Dutch ovens, roast meat or tofu, learn to sharpen your knives, baton and feather logs, climb on a climbing wall, archery and fun competitions.
Come and socialize with the other Venturers and Rovers for a weekend of fun!
Weekend social camp for Venturers/Rovers and Senior Pathfinders/TREX/Rangers
The Venturee will be held at the Scout Entrance Side of the Camp, sites are first come (select during registration)
Tenting Sites available - A, D, E, F, G, H, I shared depending on the size of your group, dedicated Guide site.
Adirondacks available - 1, 2, 3, 4 for larger groups
Overflow tent sites - field (no fire)
(First come first served, select in the registration form)
Gates open: May 24 at 6:30pm, Pick up May 26 at 11:00am
Cost:
$50 per person (first 2 Scouters are free) Must be a member of Scouts Canada/Girl Guides in Good Standing
Registration includes: Event crest, camping, all meals, Saturday night music and games, and a weekend full of fun and skills!
Final payment and attendance are required by May 10, 2024 to hold spot
Just Saturday? $25 each (Participants and Scouters)
Registration includes: Saturday Brunch, Lupper and Mug up, event crest and all activities
Final payment and attendance are required by May 17, 2024 to hold spot
Volunteers/OOS - Cabin (Lion's Lodge) or tenting (next to Lion's Lodge) available, all meals and event crest are included
Cabins/other sites can be booked here for extra cost, no discount on registration fee.

Friday Mug up: Hot dog roast (chicken/beef, halal chicken and veg hot dogs), buns, condiments, hot drinks, water
Saturday Brunch: Boil in a bag omelet into a breakfast burrito - you pick your fixings and a non-egg option and hashbrown skillets
Saturday Lupper: Roasting everything - meat, vegetables, tofu, including turkey in a garbage can, roasted beef, bannock on a stick and Dutch Oven dessert (peach cobbler or apple crisp)
Saturday Mug up: What else goes on a stick? Roasting cinnamon buns
Sunday Breakfast: Oatmeal Bar - oatmeal, raisins and fruit and left overs
Snacks: cookies, granola bars and Pie Irons (pizza and fruit pie)
Drinks: Coffee, hot chocolate, tea/herbal tea, cold water, drink crystals

Friday
6:30pm Gates Open for weekend campers – Drop off and overnight parking at Scout entrance
7:00pm Camp Master and Ranger trailer shuttle if needed (extra cost)
9:00 pm Scouters Meeting and Registration at Activity Pavilion
9:00 pm Friday Night Hotdog Roast Mug up at Large Fire Pit
11:00pm Quiet Time - Be respectful of those who do go to bed
Saturday
10:00am Breakfast at Activity Pavilion (bring your mess kit including water bottle and mug and camp chair)
11:00am Opening at Field in front of Lion's Lodge
11:15am - Activities until 3pm:
How to care for Cast Iron - divide into groups around Activity Pavilion
Round Robin Sessions for rest of morning and afternoon:
1:00pm: Prep Lupper - everyone, break into groups to prep meat and items for roasting,
Snack - Activity Pavilion and Large Fire Pit (available any time from 1:00pm - 3:30pm)
3:30pm: Lupper on the fires and Scouters can tend the cooking
4:00pm: Competitions at the River (go to Eramosa River by the Stepping Stones) - A Frame Walking and canoe/sail boat races
6:00pm Dinner at Activity Pavilion (bring your mess kit including a mug and water bottle and camp chair)
7:30pm Dinner Clean Up
***Day Participants may want to leave after Dinner or stay for evening
8:00 pm Evening entertainment starts in Activity Shelter
9:00pm Mug up starts at Large Fire Pit (bring mess kit including water bottle and mug and camp chair)
11:00pm Quiet Time - Be respectful of those who do go to bed

9:30am Wake up and Breakfast at Activity Pavilion (bring mess kit including water bottle and mug)
10:00am Scouts Own and Closing at Lion’s Lodge Flag Pole
11:00am Depart camp - Camp Master check out required before leaving your site
